The game is a prequel to the 2002 film Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, and a continuation of the comic book Jango Fett: Open Seasons by Haden Blackman. Limited Run Games re-released a limited supply of the game physically for the PlayStation 4 on June 28, 2019. It was re-released digitally on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 in November 2015. As a result, hours of scanning tedium are yours to be had.Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is a 2002 action-adventure video game developed and published by LucasArts for the GameCube and PlayStation 2. Switching back and forth once in a while would be okay, but Bounty Hunter has hundreds of beings that need to be scanned. First, it's a pain in the butt to switch to the scan visor every minute, necessitating several button presses to select the item and then several more to go back to your preferred weapon. The view switches to first-person while you look around, and you can't move. You see, you need to scan each NPC with a special visor to see if it's one of the five to fifteen per level that has a bounty on its head. In practice it's a tedious bore, thanks to horrible implementation details. In theory, it's a cool idea to chase down fugitives among the game's hundreds of NPCs. Perhaps the saddest disappointment is the game's bounty hunting aspect. It sounds like a promising framework for an action game, but alas, numerous issues prevent it from delivering on its potential. This is never required, but is an optional side objective throughout the game's six chapters and 18 missions. Since he's supposed to be a bounty hunter, he can also capture any being with a bounty on its head and redeem them for galactic credits. If ever a Star Wars character was ready-made for an action game, it'd be him. Fett can run, jump, roll, hang on ledges, climb, fly short distances with his jetpack, and shoot up his enemies with a nasty arsenal that includes blasters, toxic darts, and back-mounted homing rockets.
Star Wars Bounty Hunter is a third-person action game, with an emphasis on the action. But, unbeknownst to him, he's not the only bounty hunter on the case. He accepts the job, and sets off to track down a lead on the shadowy cult. Still, Jango's a consummate professional, and this could be the big break he needs. In fact, no bounty hunter who's ever gone after them has lived to tell the tale. These guys are bad news, and worse enemies. err, Tyranus, offering an astronomical sum for the capture of the ex-Jedi leader of a disruptive cult called the Bando Gora. Soon enough he receives a transmission from Darth Dook. common criminals, debtors, white rappers. The game begins with Fett on the prowl for some small-time bounties. Star Wars Bounty Hunter puts you into the Mandalorian armor of the Old Republic's most feared bounty hunter, in an adventure that takes place between the events of the two most recent films. So nice, in fact, that LucasArts has given him his own game.
Given his quasi-mystical status among fans, it was a nice treat to see his sorta-kinda father Jango in action during last summer's Star Wars Episode II. For a minor Star Wars character whose greatest onscreen moment is hurtling into a Sarlacc pit, Boba Fett gets a surprising amount of respect.
